[ARCHIVED] County Attorney's 5th Annual "Live Drug Free" Poster Contest

Sixth graders throughout the county will design posters with creative messages in conjunction with
the anti-drug campaign “Red Ribbon Week”, the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country. The national campaign, started by the National Family Partnership in 1988,
commemorates the ultimate sacrifice made by DEA Special Agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena,
and serves as a vehicle for communities and individuals to take a visible stand against
substance abuse.

Posters will be collected from schools all over the County, from Flagstaff to Fredonia, from Supai
to Leupp. The Selection Committee will choose the winners on Tuesday, November 12th. Winners
will be announced in the AZ Daily Sun on Sunday, November 17th and again on Tuesday,
November 19th throughout the day on KNAU Arizona Public Radio.

“This contest is a fun way for kids to integrate the drug free message with creative artwork and
promote the drug free lifestyle in our elementary and middle schools. We are thrilled that so many
students participate in this contest each year”, said County Attorney David Rozema.

The winning posters from last year are still on display at the Coconino County Attorney’s Office,
located at 110 E. Cherry Avenue in Flagstaff, and on the County Attorney’s website below.
