Flagstaff, AZ: Eighteen year-old Winston Taylor Gallagher of Valle, AZ has been arrested forResidential Burglary in Valle which is a neighborhood located between Williams, AZ and theentrance to the Grand Canyon.
During the last six months, Coconino County Sheriff’s Deputies and Detectives haveinvestigated approximately eight residential burglaries that occurred in the Valle area. Duringone of the investigations, Deputies and the home owner discussed the idea of the home ownerposting game cameras around his home in the event the suspect or suspects returned for a secondburglary.
The home owner reported a second burglary at his residence that is believed to have occurred onOctober, 31, 2012. He stated he had posted game cameras in strategic locations around hisproperty and believed one of the cameras captured images of a possible suspect. One of theofficers who assisted with the investigation was a Sergeant assigned to the Williams PatrolDistrict. The Sergeant viewed the captured images and recognized the person as WinstonGallagher. The Sergeant was familiar with Mr. Gallagher from previous contacts he had withhim.
On November 21, 2012 Deputies and Detectives contacted Gallagher at a residence at which hestays in Valle, AZ. During an interview Mr. Gallagher made statements to investigatorsimplicating him in the first burglary as described above. Mr. Gallagher was arrested for onecount of Residential Burglary, one count of Possession of Stolen Property, one count ofMisdemeanor Theft, and one Count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was taken intocustody at the Coconino County Detention Facility.
On November 24th, 2012, Deputies received anonymous information which resulted in the searchof an out-building on Mr. Gallagher’s property. During the search, they recoveredapproximately 20 items believed to have been taken during residential burglaries.
Deputies received information that Gallagher frequently stayed at two different residenceslocated in the Valle area. On November 27, 2012 Williams District Deputies served searchwarrants at both homes identified by the caller. They recovered 30 mores items believed to havebeen taken during at least three of the burglaries that have been reported.
Detectives are continuing this investigation and additional charges are anticipated. Anyone wholives in the Valle, Arizona area and has experienced a residential burglary within the last year isurged to report the crime to the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office at (928) 774-4523.
