[ARCHIVED] Cancel Notice of Missing Endangered Adult - Matthew Smail

7/18/13 3:30 pm update. Matthew Smail was seen walking along the rail tracks in Flagstaff by an employee of Horizon Moving. He is safe and in good health. Thanks for your assistance.


Doney Park, AZ - Coconino County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate nineteen year-old Matthew Smail who is described as a possibly endangered vulnerable missing adult with a diminished mental capacity of a 12 year old child. Prior to his disappearance Matthew was staying at the Kaitlyn Ranch Group Home located on Treadway Trail in Doney Park east of Flagstaff, AZ. He was first discovered missing from the group home on July 17 at about 5:00 pm and is believed to have voluntarily walked away from the home with a possible intended destination of Flagstaff, AZ.

On several previous occasions when Matthew left the group home he was found by law enforcement officers in the area of the Flagstaff Mall and on one occasion while he was walking along Butler Ave. Matthew was last seen wearing a black shirt with a “Marvel Comic” print on it and dark grey pants. Please refer to the attached photograph of Matthew.
