[ARCHIVED] Winter Storm Warning From Tue 6 am until Wed 6 am MST

Affected Area: Areas above 5000 feet near Doney Park, Flagstaff and Williams

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM MST THIS EVENING ABOVE 5000 FEET... ...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TUESDAY TO 6 AM MST WEDNESDAY... 

WHAT...Expect snow showers to increase and become more persistent this afternoon and evening. For the Winter Weather Advisory, snow totals of 1 to 4 inches are expected by this evening. A much more serious storm, containing heavy snow, strong winds and sharply colder temperatures, arrives Tuesday morning, lasting through Tuesday night. For the Winter Storm Warning, additional snow totals of 6 to 12 inches are expected, with locally higher amounts. 

WHERE...
Areas above 5000 feet near Doney Park, Flagstaff and Williams. 

WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 11 PM MST this evening. For the Winter Storm Warning, from 6 AM Tuesday to 6 AM MST Wednesday. 

IMPACTS...For today, expect travel delays due to snow covered roads. For Tuesday, travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas of blowing/drifting snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commute. Strong winds could cause tree damage. The cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
