ASH FORK, AZ – On May 14, 2021 deputies observed a vehicle traveling in the Kaibab Estates West area, north of Ash Fork, matching the description of an individual wanted for an arrest warrant out of Williams Justice Court. The deputy initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and discovered the driver of the vehicle was the wanted subject. The driver was identified as Richard Roy Johnson Jr., a 50-year-old Ash Fork man.
Richard was arrested for the warrant as well as driving on a suspended license. While processing the vehicle for tow, deputies located over 164 blue pills, suspected to be “M30” labeled fentanyl pills, and approximately 0.9 ounces of methamphetamine. Located next to the drugs was a loaded .22 caliber handgun. It was discovered that Richard is currently a prohibited possessor of firearms due to prior felony convictions out of Yavapai County. Richard was showing indicators of being under the influence of drugs while driving as well.
Richard was booked into the Coconino County Detention Facility for Possession of Narcotics For Sale, Transportation of Narcotics for Sale, Possession of Dangerous Drugs (Meth) for Sale, Transportation of Dangerous Drugs (Meth) for Sale, Weapons Misconduct-Prohibited Possessor, Possession of a Firearm During a Drug Offense, and Aggravated DUI (Drugs).
