SUBJECT: I-40 Traffic Stop Results in Large Drug Bust
Flagstaff, AZ; On April 2nd at 1:41 pm, the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling East of Flagstaff near Cosinino Road after observing a traffic violation. The traffic stop resulted in a large methamphetamine and heroin arrest and seizure.
After stopping the vehicle, the Deputy contacted the driver, a 35-year-old male out of Colorado, with a suspended license. Passengers in the vehicle included a 39-year-old male from Colorado, a 27 year old female New Mexico, and a 17 year old juvenile male.
Both adult passengers were found to have arrest warrants out of Colorado. During an inventory search of the vehicle 97 pounds of methamphetamine, 7.5 pounds of heroin, as well as fentanyl pills and cocaine were located inside the vehicle.
A stolen firearm was also recovered.
The three adults were arrested and booked into the Coconino County Jail on the drug, weapon, and warrant criminal charges.. This matter is still under investigation and no further information is currently available.
