Flagstaff, AZ – Today shortly after 11:00 am an Arizona D.P.S. Air Rescue Helicopter and crew flew over Paria Canyon and the pilot made the decision that he could safely fly into the canyon and land close to the victim’s location. Once on the Canyon floor a DPS paramedic accessed both of the victim’s conditions and found that William Austin had a minor medical condition and determined that Andrew Childers was in good condition. The crew was able to safely fly one victim out of the Canyon at a time. William Austin was the first person that was flown to the Page Airport. The helicopter returned to the “Narrows” and picked up Andrew Childers flying him to the Page Airport. A deputy drove both individuals to their vehicles.
