The seat on the Coconino County Board of Supervisors representing District 3 will become vacant due to retirement. The Board will now accept applications from qualified candidates to fill the vacancy. The appointment will be from January 2024 through December 31, 2024.

General Duties of a County Supervisor

The County Board of Supervisors are elected to four-year terms and provide direction to the County Manager and several other County departments. The Board's jurisdiction covers all municipalities and unincorporated areas. Board members decide the County tax rate and approve the County budget. The County Board of Supervisors oversees public health, County roads, County parks, and works in cooperation with other County Elected Officials including the Treasurer, Recorder, County Attorney, and Superior Court. The Board also has the power to fill vacancies in County elected offices and some legislative offices. The Board also appoints members of some County Boards and Commissions. The Board has the authority to make decisions on a variety of issues, such as zoning changes, resolutions, and ordinances. Annual Salary: $63,800 (ARS§ 11-419)

Minimum Qualifications to Apply:

• Must be a registered voter in the State of Arizona. 
• Must be registered with the Democratic Party. Arizona Revised Statutes state that a Board vacancy must be filled by a member of the predecessor's political party at the time of election. (ARS§ 16-230).
• Must reside within the current District 3 boundary.
