Hon. Maia Rodriguez
On December 20, 2022, the Coconino County Board of Supervisors appointed Maia Rodriguez to preside over the Page Justice Court until the next General Election in 2024.
Judge Rodriguez has over 24 years of experience in the Coconino County Justice Courts. She possesses a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Psychology. She has successfully completed the Coconino County Supervisors & Leadership Academies, the National Center for State Courts Institute for Court Management Court Management Program, Court Executive Program, and the Fellows Program.
The majority of Judge Rodriguez’s court experience was gained while she was employed with the Flagstaff Justice Court. During her 24-year tenure there, she advanced from an Administrative Support position to the Administrative Senior Manager. This experience allowed her to become well-rounded in all operations and responsibilities of the Flagstaff JC. She spent numerous days in the courtroom clerking for the Judges while they were handling a variety of cases. She then promoted into supervisory role(s) and managed staff, budget, and recruitment and would cover in court as needed when staff shortages occurred. In April of 2022, she transferred to the Page Justice Court when she was hired as the Administrative Court Supervisor. Since she has been employed at the Page Justice Court, she has improved case processing methods, implemented security protocols, improved staff morale, and has fostered great working relationships with the Page Municipal Court (co-located in the same building) and other departments.
