During disasters, it is not uncommon for impacted property owners to be scammed by individuals taking advantage of those who feel rushed to make immediate decisions regarding repairs to homes or businesses. Arizona Registrar of Contractors welcomes property owners to call the agency for information about how to avoid these scams and to know which steps to take when hiring someone for repairs so they are not the victims of additional disasters, such as abandoned or shoddy work. Property owners are urged to only hire licensed contractors and to verify the status of a license at www.roc.az.gov.
