If you are requesting a Protective Order and have completed your petition on the AZ POINT online petition portal (https://azpoint.azcourts.gov/), please call the Civil Unit of the Flagstaff Justice Court at 928-679-7650 and select option 4.  Staff will work with you about having a telephonic hearing with the Judge at that time or as quickly as possible from the time staff receives your call.  Please have your protective order number available to give to staff.   If your call is not answered, please leave a message that includes how the court can safely contact you to get you set up for a telephonic hearing. A protective order is a court order that is issued to stop a person from harassing or committing violence by way of limited or no contact between the Plaintiff (the party(ies) requesting protection) and the Defendant (the person whom you are seeking protection from).  

There are four types of protective orders:

Order of Protection – A court order that is issued to stop a person from committing domestic violence or from contacting other people protected by the order.  A specific domestic relationship between the Plaintiff and Defendant must me met in order to qualify for an Order of Protection.   For more information, please reference A.R.S. § 13-3602.

Injunction Against Harassment – A court order that is issued to stop harassing, annoying, or alarming another person.  A relationship does not have to exist between the two parties, as is required with an Order of Protection.  For more information, please reference A.R.S. § 12-1809.

Injunction Against Workplace Harassment – A court order that is issued to an employer or authorized agent to stop a person from coming into the place of business, or employees who are performing official work duties elsewhere.  An Injunction Against Workplace Harassment may protect the employer, employees, people coming into the place of business, or employees who are performing official work duties elsewhere.  For more information, please reference A.R.S. § 12-1810.

Emergency Order of Protection – A court order authorized by a judicial officer in writing, verbally or by telephone for the protection of a person in “imminent and present danger of domestic violence.”  For more information, please reference A.R.S. § 13-3624.

Una orden de protección es una orden judicial que se emite para impedir que una persona acose o cometa violencia a modo de contacto limitado o nulo entre el Demandante (la(s) parte(es) que solicita protección) y el Demandado (la persona de la que está buscando protección).  Hay cuatro tipos de órdenes de protección:

Medida cautelar contra el acoso en el lugar de trabajo – Una orden judicial que se emite a un empleador o agente autorizado para impedir que una persona entre en el lugar de negocios, o empleados que están realizando tareas laborales oficiales en otro lugar.  Una medida cautelar contra el acoso en el lugar de trabajo puede proteger al empleador, empleados, personas que entran en el lugar de negocios o empleados que están realizando tareas laborales oficiales en otros lugares.  Para obtener más información, consulte A.R.S. §  12-1810.

Orden de Protección de Emergencia – Una orden judicial autorizada por un oficial judicial por escrito, verbal o por teléfono para la protección de una persona en "peligro inminente y presente de violencia doméstica".  Para obtener más información, consulte A.R.S. §  13-3624.
