Proposed Onika/Lilac Road Maintenance District 

The Board of Supervisors received an petition requesting the establishment of the Onika/Lilac Road Maintenance District on January 18, 2022. The petition can be found below. Statutes that pertain to the creation of a county improvement district can be found in Arizona Revised Statutes 48-901 to 48-967. The Board will have a public hearing regarding the proposed road maintenance district on February 22, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. virtually via Zoom. At the hearing the Board will hear from those for and against the proposed district and shall determine whether the creation of the district will promote public health, comfort, convenience, necessity or welfare. Proposed West Coconino Fire Rescue District Information

The Board of Supervisors received an Impact Statement for the proposed establishment of the West Coconino Fire Rescue District. Documents pertaining to the proposed Fire District can be found below. Arizona Revised Statutes 48-261 are the statutory requirements for creating a fire district. The Board will held a hearing regarding the Impact Statement and proposed Fire District on Tuesday, May 11 at 7:00 p.m. The Board of Supervisors determined that the public health, comfort, convenience, necessity or welfare will be promoted, and approved of the district impact statement and authorized the circulation of petitions.

Special Taxing Districts

Special taxing districts are established under Arizona Revised Statutes, Title 48, as political subdivisions of the state. They are governed by an elected board. Additional statutory information is available at the Arizona Legislature website.
