Juvenile Detention Center Transition School
The mission of the “Transition School” is to provide students an opportunity to earn credit and develop educational and transition plans to prepare them for return to their home school. Juveniles that have been adjudicated by the Coconino County Court System and who are on probation may be assigned to the Coconino Juvenile Detention Center Transition School. This program is located at the Juvenile Detention Center in an area that is separate from the detention area.
Our small class sizes allow our two highly qualified teachers to develop strategies for each student based on their individual academic needs. This program works closely with the student’s home school to keep students engaged in coursework that can be completed and valued upon their return. Online courses also provide access for students to recover credits needed for graduation.
