Public Works FY 2017 Key Accomplishments

Coconino County Public Works maintains over 1,000 miles of roadways across a vast expanse of spectacular landscape in Northern Arizona. In addition to road maintenance, the Department also administers the County’s Flood Control District and provides Fleet Management Services to all County departments. With a budget exceeding $30 million, the department is funded not only by gas tax revenue but importantly has a locally controlled sales tax dedicated to solely to road maintenance services. 65% of the County’s voters approved Proposition 403 in 2014, which is providing over $8 million in revenues annually and supporting investments in organizational improvements, capital projects and equipment for the next 18 years. The Department’s Director is committed to an inclusive and collaborative leadership approach to departmental decision-making, and to supporting a thriving culture characterized by highly engaged team members.
