Mountain Dell Access Road Reconstruction Project
October 23, 2021:
The Mt. Dell Access Road Reconstruction Project was substantially completed this week with work that included landscape hydroseeding, manhole grouting, headwall backfilling, and a punch list walk-through. Project cleanup, demobilization, and final punch list work should bring the project to final completion next week.
The Mountain Dell Access Road Reconstruction Project includes replacement of the old, cracked asphalt on Mountain Dell Access Road from just past the Beulah Blvd. transition area to the Mountain Dell subdivision. The currently paved sections Palmer Avenue and Sinclair Street in Mountain Dell also will be repaved as part of this project, which is expected to break ground in late spring or early this summer.
Fort Tuthill Utility Improvement Project
April 2, 2021: The contractor has completed installation of all but one sewer connection and is finished with all underground work. Upcoming punch list items include sewer line pressure testing and epoxy coating of manholes when temperatures permit. Trail restoration work is scheduled to start next week with demobilization expected by the end of the month.
The Fort Tuthill Utility Improvement Project will extend the sewer line from University Heights through Mountain Dell to Fort Tuthill to provide sewer service to the park. For more information please visit the project’s web page.

Mountain Dell Drainage Improvement Project
October 02, 2020: Final change-order work for the Mountain Dell Drainage Improvement Project continued this week for channel signage and project as-builts. Final completion and sign-off for the project is expected next week.
The Mountain Dell Drainage Improvement Project will improve the drainage in the community to accommodate a 100-year flood event. The goal of this project is to decrease the size of the flood-affected area. When completed, the project will provide flood mitigation for 28 structures, including approximately 20 homes and the community’s water system, which could positively impact flood insurance rates for these properties.

Mountain Dell Drainage Improvement Project Background
In 2016 the Coconino County Flood Control District (FCD) completed Initial Engineering Assessments (IEAs) in four areas of the County deemed "Special Flood Hazard Areas" by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). An IEA is a tool that the FCD uses to better understand flood risks so that initial, conceptual flood mitigation alternatives can be identified and evaluated.
Based on this IEA information, the FCD Board of Directors approved preliminary engineering and feasibility studies for the conceptual Mountain Dell/Sinclair Wash Drainage Improvement Project.
