Coconino County Stormwater

On March 10, 2003 Coconino County filed with the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) a Notice of Intent (NOI) for coverage under the General Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Permit No. AZG2002-002 for authorization to discharge stormwater runoff into the waters of the U.S. from Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (SMS4s) under County jurisdiction.  Storm3.jpg

At the same time, the County submitted to ADEQ a Stormwater Management Program (SWMP) committing the County by 12/19/07 to the development of Best Management Practices (BMPs), new ordinances, and measurable goals and to establishing target dates for the achievement and full implementation of the six program elements, referred to as minimum control measures, required in Part V.B of the above AZPDES general permit for stormwater discharges from SMS4s.
