Emergency Management

Tornadoe Camper

Fall is usually a quiet time of the year for northern Arizona. However, on October 6th, 2010, 10 tornadoes touched down in Coconino County between 2:00 AM and 1:00 PM. The pictures above are of the extensive damage caused in Bellemont.

Disasters can come when you least expect them, so now is the time to prepare. The following resources can help you get started:

Plan  1) Have a Plan. Develop a family emergency evacuation plan together. Plan escape routes.  Emergency Kit  2) Have an  Emergency Kit for evacuations and a Stay Kit for sheltering in place.
Stay Informed  3) Stay Informed through Emergency Notification Alerts  Volunteer  4) Volunteer in your community and be part of the response team.

What is Emergency Management? Emergency Management provides capability for local governments, businesses, organizations, and individuals to prepare for, respond to, recover from, and mitigate the effects of any natural or human-caused emergency or disaster.
